Excuses?

Excuses? Looking to someone else to do the work, take the lead and make a difference is about as selfish as it gets. When bad things are happening around us, what IS our responsibility?

Think about it. Bad things are happening all around us. Bad guys are abundant. The fact is this: bad guys get away with it when good guys look the other way. Yet, we look around us at bad things happening and we’re apt to say, “Hey, I’m with him.”

God’s Word tells us: “When Pilate saw that he could prevail nothing, but that rather a tumult was made, he took water, and washed his hands before the multitude, saying, I am innocent of the blood of this just person: see ye to it .” (Matthew 27:24).

Safe in the numbers of faceless folks around us, we simply fade back into the crowd, hoping that someone else will take the lead. We stand around and look for an easy way out. People who DO bad things will get punished and God reserves judgment for them. But making excuses for our own inaction makes us culpable as well. Take a stand; don’t just stand around.

“I pray today in Jesus name that we never stand around and look for an easy way out when bad things happen. Making excuses for our own inaction makes us culpable as well. Take a stand; don’t just stand around.” Amen!

“Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own” (Matthew 6:34) www.thispassingday.com
