Dress the line?

Dress the line? What comes between us and God? There are many things, but money is a prime culprit. When it comes to money God is just asking us to straighten out, dress as they say militarily, the path leading to eternal life. Money has a way of blocking a “dressed” line.

Think about it. Go to the mountains and hold two coins closely in front of your eyes–the mountains are still there, but you cannot see them at all because there is a dime shutting off the vision in each eye. It doesn't take large quantities of money to come between us and God; just a little, placed in the wrong position, will effectively obscure our view.

God’s Word tells us: “For the sun rises with scorching heat and withers the plant; its blossom falls and its beauty is destroyed. In the same way, the rich will fade away even while they go about their business” (James 1: 9 - 11).

“Heavenly Father, give me the strength to stick it out over the long haul—not the grim strength of gritting my teeth but the glory-strength You give. It is strength that endures the unendurable and spills over into joy life has for me. Jesus, give me strength in my weakness.situations I face! In Jesus name I pray. Amen.

When you and I organize our lives around money, the line to God is no longer straight and the view of our final goal at the end of that line is obscured. So, “dress right, dress Christian.” Keep your lines straight. absolutely true to God’s line of things. Get straight, be ready. That’s it.

“Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own” (Matthew 6:34) www.thispassingday.com
