Dog fight?

Ever watch two dogs fight? As soon as one dog becomes aware it’s going to be overpowered or injured, it rolls over on its back into a submissive posture. Survival in the canine world is a matter of knowing when to submit, not when to attack.

Think for a moment. What if OUR nature to attack when threatened were tempered with the ability to be submissive? What a more peaceful and gentle world it would be if each of us knew when to submit, to yield to the other person!

The Bible commands us to “submit to one another”(Ephesians 5:21).

Unfortunately we too often confuse submission with subjugation. God never asks us to be doormats to one another. Submission is knowing when, in love, it’s a good thing to put our “rights” under complete control; to stop, yield, and measure every situation for potential conflict against the well-being of others.

“I pray today in Jesus name that each of us stop to paint the moment of potential conflict with the brush of kindness and peace. In Jesus name, Amen!”

“Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own” (Matthew 6:34) www.thispassingday.com
