Do it your way?

Do it your way? Purpose is fickle—it demands attention, and when ignored, it slips away. We search for it, but eventually get used to its absence, replacing it with something else. Yet, no substitute brings the same fulfillment. Over time, we rationalize and move from one goal to the next, losing sight of what once made us whole. How can we keep God’s purpose in focus daily, without losing touch with it?

Think about it. How do you and I keep what is purposeful in focus daily without losing touch with God’s purpose for our lives?

God’s Word: “But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you (Matthew 6:33).”

We pray: “Heavenly Father, thank You for the purpose You've given me—to glorify You and share Your love with others. Forgive me for when I've focused on wrong things, chasing goals that distract me. Help me to seek Your kingdom above all else. In Jesus' name. Amen.”

Goals can be deceiving when we anchor our lives in the wrong purpose. God created us to glorify Him, not to spend our lives chasing wealth or popularity. While money and comfort are blessings, they aren't our purpose. If life feels purposeless, consider if you've lost faith, character, or salvation—because with these, you have everything. Perhaps the real loss is not your purpose, but your way.

Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself.

Each day has enough trouble of its own” (Matt 6:34)
