Lonely destination? If there is one thing that our current culture is emphatic about is this: no one deserves rejection–everyone must be accepted. We say that it’s a matter of fairness; that everyone deserves the same opportunity to be everything that they can be.
Think about it. We live in a society that loves inclusion. While being included is a good thing and we certainly strive to make sure that no one is left out, is there ever a time when being included is not as important as being left out.
God’s Word tells us: "Jesus said to them, ‘A prophet is not without honor except in his own town, among his relatives and in his own home’” (Mark 6:4).
We don’t need to be respected or included by friends, even family, to be valued by God. If we want to work for the Lord, sometimes we just need to embrace rejection as a gift rather than a curse. The path may be lonely; but the destination is surely much more inviting.
“I pray today in Jesus name that we always know You value each and every one of us as special, and that we don’t need to look for that same appreciation in any one other than You. Amen!”
“Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own” (Matthew 6:34) www.thispassingday.com
