Demolition or construction?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L-Lyexblv30

Demolition or construction? Years ago my son Dan bought an old pickup truck needing engine and body work. He decided on a complete restoration, dismantling everything: engine, drive train, axles, wheels, cab, frame. Visiting his workshop, I saw parts scattered everywhere and wondered if it was demolition. Dan assured me it was the start of a rebuild.

Think about it. The way Dan used his hands determined how that project would go. So it is with how we use our tongues. We can use them to tear down or build up.

God’s Word tells us: With their mouths the godless destroy their neighbors, but through knowledge the righteous escape. (Proverbs 12:1-2).”

King Solomon wrote, “With his mouth the godless destroys his neighbor, but through knowledge the righteous escape” (Proverbs 11:9). Our words hold immense power, like Dan’s hands in rebuilding or demolishing. Each person we meet today is either a demolition or a building project. The choice is ours, as the tongue is the sharpest and most commonly misused blessing from God. Use it wisely.

We pray. “Heavenly Father, guide our words to build up, not tear down. Help us use the power of our tongue to bless and uplift others. May we speak with wisdom and love, reflecting Your grace. Teach us to choose words that heal, encourage, and demonstrate Your goodness in every interaction. In Jesus name. Amen.”

“Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself.

Each day has enough trouble of its own” (Matthew 6:34)
