Danger of delay?

Danger of delay? My wife and I recently debated replacing our forty-five-year-old Airstream. Modern trailers amazed us, but we narrowed choices to two models. Financing seemed easy until we realized Airstreams last decades, while others wear out quickly. Quality trumped convenience.

Think about it. It’s like that with sin. We know the rules, but it’s often just so attractive that we find ourselves putting those rules on the shelf for the sake of our appetites.

God’s Word tells us: “… my son, do not go along with them, do not set foot on their paths; for their feet rush into evil, they are swift to shed blood (Proverbs 1:15-16).”

When you woke up today, did you expect to feel God's presence in your life? Not just a passive awareness, but an active companionship? Cultivating this expectation leads to a richer, more fulfilling life, grounded in the promise that God seeks us daily, walking beside us in Christ's name. Expecting and recognizing God's presence every day is a discipline that enriches our lives immeasurably.

We pray: “Heavenly Father, help us wake each day with the expectation of Your presence. May we feel Your companionship actively guiding us. Teach us to seek and recognize You daily, knowing that Your promise to walk beside us enriches our lives. In the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.”

“Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself.

Each day has enough trouble of its own” (Matthew 6:34)
