Cherish life? Jealousy is often seen as the greatest evil because it garners little pity from those who instigate it. Unlike other emotions rooted in anger, jealousy operates insidiously. When we unleash it, we release a "silent" killer that targets its victim with relentless precision. Jealousy allows us to indulge in anger's anticipation, making it a unique and dangerous emotion that thrives on observation and participation before it strikes.
Think about it. Jealousy harms both the target and the giver, as we focus on directing our anger while ignoring the emotional damage it inflicts on ourselves.
God’s Word: "If you bite and devour each other, watch out or you will be destroyed by each other (Galatians 5:15)?”
Bitterness quickly takes hold, dragging us down as we try to undermine others. Jealousy transforms us into slaves of anger, clouding our judgment and inflicting self-punishment. Our understanding of life and God's will becomes distorted through jealousy. When tempted to launch that "torpedo," consider viewing the target through the lens of faith. Remember, Jesus loves them as much as He loves you. Release your anger and cherish life.
We pray. "“Heavenly Father, help us release our jealousy and bitterness. Open our hearts to Your love, allowing us to see others as Your creations. Grant us wisdom to overcome anger, fostering compassion and understanding. May we cherish life and reflect Your grace in our relationships. In Jesus name. Amen.”
“Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself.
Each day has enough trouble of its own” (Matthew 6:34)
