Carry on? Snowfall greeted the morning several weeks back, prompting my resolve to clear the driveway before Holly left for work. Despite starting the John Deere, I flooded it, forcing Holly to navigate through. "It is what it is," I resigned. Habitually, I planned to clear snow, feed birds, and walk. But the stalled tractor disrupted this routine. Still, "It is what it is," my mantra in life's disruptions, reminding me to adapt and persevere.
Think about it. When you think about it, most of life is like that. We propose and God disposes. He helps us to discover and reminds us to simply, carry on. “It is what it is!”
God’s Word tells us: “The Lord is in his holy temple; the Lord is on his heavenly throne. He observes everyone on earth; his eyes examine them” (Psalms 11:4).
Amid adversity, surrendering to familiarity is common. Though setbacks tempt retreat, it opposes God's will. Despite evil, Christians must persevere, trusting His plan. "It is what it is" brings solace, affirming events align with God's design.
We pray. “Heavenly Father, In times of adversity, may we resist the lure of familiarity and instead trust in Your plan. Grant us strength to persevere, even in the face of evil. May the reassurance of "It is what it is" remind us of Your sovereignty. In Jesus name. Amen!”
“Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself.
Each day has enough trouble of its own” (Matthew 6:34)
