But a feeble grasp?

But a feeble grasp? It’s true, government seems to grow fatter year after year as our wallets seem to be getting slimmer. Ultimately, however, when we remember that what we have is nothing but a loan from God and not really ours in the first place, it does tend to put a different spin on things.

Think about it. God chose government to fill a very special role in our lives, to provide a secure footing here, while we journey homeward to a land where the lion lays down with the lamb; a place where taxpayers an tax takers will be singing duets as heavenly friends.

God’s Word tells us: “He said to them, ‘Then give back to Caesar what is Caesar’s, and to God what is God’s.’” (Luke 20:20-26).

God works His grace through that same government which taxes us; of that we can be assured. A Christian knows which side his bread is buttered on. The fact that we pay a great percentage of what we earn in taxes, really doesn’t give government a hold on our lives. Our lives in truth are firmly in the grasp of God, who has paid the bill in full, taxes included!

We pray: “Heavenly Father, thank You for Your example of sacrifice of Your Son and caring for all of us. Help us to have a loving heart and spirit. Guide and show us where we are needed and give us the strength to do these things in Your name.  In Jesus name. Amen.

“Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own” (Matthew 6:34)www.thispassingday.com
