Broken pieces?

Picking up the pieces. Throughout my career, from stock boy to vice president, I've always aimed to instill confidence in my employers. While I've had successes, I've also faced failures. When failure happens, it’s essential to learn, pick up the pieces, and move on. Moving forward is crucial, though challenging for all of us, as dwelling on failure only hinders progress as we move on in life.

Think about it. Over time I’ve found it isn’t the successes that instill new confidence when taking on a new job. It’s the sorting out and picking up the pieces after a failure.

God’s Word: "But He said to me, 'My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is made perfect in weakness.' Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me (2 Corinthians 12:9).”

Through successes and many failures, He creates something valuable. Facing life's challenges can feel overwhelming, leading to doubt and insecurity. Feeling inadequate isn’t sinful, but letting it prevent us from doing God’s will is. Sometimes, picking up the pieces is the only way to realize the impossible is possible.

We pray. “Heavenly Father, in our brokenness, You see potential. Despite our failures, You use us for Your divine purpose. Grant us the courage to pick up the pieces, to trust in You, and to overcome our inadequacies. Strengthen our faith to do Your will, even when we feel unworthy. In Jesus name. Amen.”

“Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself.

Each day has enough trouble of its own” (Matthew 6:34)
