Blessings and curses?

Blessings and curses? When I was little there was a candy I got only at my Grandma’s house-Nonpareils, She kept them in a dish on her buffet. Small, round, dark chocolate wafers with white sprinkles. Second helpings were restricted however. They were “bad for our teeth” she stressed. But because seconds were banned, she was generous with the firsts.

Think about it. In that respect many things in life are both blessings and a curses. We learned to respect that little, candy dish, because it represented both bounty and famine.

God’s Word tells us: “The Lord said to Moses, ‘I will rain down bread from heaven for you. The people are to go out each day and gather enough for that day’” (Exodus 16:4a).

When you think about it, most of the blessings in this life mask a hidden curse when we choose to abuse them. The key to enjoying our blessings is a simple concept: called obedience. When we obey to stay within the limits, blessings often continue and curses fade away.

“Heavenly Father, I thank you for all the benefits you have unto me. Make me obedient to Your Word as Your generosity and kindness knows no bounds, and I am truly grateful. Shower me with your abundance of grace so the curses in this life reveal themselves as blessings. In Jesus name. Amen!”

“Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own” (Matthew 6:34) www.thispassingday.com
