Acceptance?

Acceptance? What lies beyond your fears? For many it’s the thought that someone might laugh or someone might see me exposed as weak or ineffective. Just as we don’t want to be seen physically naked, allowing others to see us emotionally naked is no better.

Think about it. When it feels like fear is holding a gun to our head, it’s probably best to quickly survey the situation and ask: “What’s the worst that could happen?” Death? Even death cannot equal the power of our God. Sometimes we just need to accept the fact that things happen and we need to be able to move on.

God’s Word tells us: “This is how we know that we live in him and he in us: He has given us of his Spirit” (1 John 4:16-20).

Moving from fear to acceptance is a daily process that requires constant effort. As Christians we need to reassure ourselves daily that the love of Christ surpasses even our most embarrassing fears. It is the love that brings peace amid the chaos of fear.

“I pray today in Jesus name that when we are afraid because we might be embarrassed or in some way emotionally stressed, we turn to God and be reminded that He is always before us.” Amen!”

“Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own” (Matthew 6:34) www.thispassingday.com
